Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description: A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in length consisting of a red portcullis surmounted by a pair of gold wings elevated, surmounting the base of an axe, axe head facing dexter.  Attached above and below the device, a blue scroll inscribed above “WITH SUPPORT” and below “WE CONQUER” in silver letters.

Symbolism: The portcullis alludes to protection in any emergency.  The tomahawk suggests the military duties implemented by the Group.  The elevated wings signify the enhancement of the mind and the swiftness to render support.

Background: The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 11 June 2007.

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia 

Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description: On a blue vertical rectangular embroidered item, coming to a 90-degree point at base and arched at top, three arched strips at top, red, yellow, and blue above a vertical tomahawk axe head pointing to the left, surmounting the base of the axe handle, a pair of yellow wings elevated; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border.  Overall dimensions are 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width by 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in length.

Symbolism: The rainbow denotes the Group’s heritage from the 42nd Division Support Command.  The tomahawk suggests the military duties implemented and performed by the Group. The elevated wings signify the enhancement of the mind and the swiftness to render support.

Background: The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 11 June 2007.
